Display your work at the Youth 19 Art Gallery

From March 2019, there will be a dedicated youth art gallery in the Garden of Reflection to celebrate the creativity and achievements of young people here.

​​We are inviting schools, community and voluntary sector, arts organisations or individuals who would like to host an art exhibition for 2 weeks during 2019 to complete the expression of interest form.

Your work can include, but is not limited to painting, drawing, photography, fashion, video or audio.

Completing a PEACE IV Design Thinking programme, local young people have come up with some creative new ideas to motivate teenagers across the City and District, in support of the Youth 19 programme for Derry and Strabane. With £10,000 available for the implementation of a proposed solution to young people having “nothing to do”;  the young people pitched their ideas to a panel.

Winning pitch re-Image, presented by Sean Kelly, Christopher McGrath and James Burke was awarded the full asking price. Re-Imaging an area within the Strabane Town centre with street art, planting, lighting, creative seating etc.; the group hope to create a safe inviting space to the young people of Strabane providing them with a sense of belonging and ownership within the community. 

Runner up groups Active Community Involvement and More To C More 2 Learn, were awarded a portion of their budget ask enabling them to deliver parts of their project proposals.

Take Back the Streets – Youth Street Art

TAKE BACK THE STREETS is a BRAND NEW Street Arts Festival as part of Youth 19 – Year of Youth!

In Your Space Circus has teamed up with Uv ArtsJumpNI and Create Dance to bring Derry-Londonderry an exciting new Street Arts Festival as part of Youth 19!

Youth Zone

The Youth Zone will give young people aged 12-24 the opportunity to take the lead in consulting with their peers, research existing shared space and youth zone models and the chance to work with a consultant who will develop the feasibility study and business case.
