Peace IV Big Youth Survey

The ‘Government Ambassador’s Mentorship Programme’ aims to match young employees with mentors to build their capacity and confidence by enabling them to take responsibility for their own learning, development, progression and personal growth.
Mentoring can be a tremendously positive experience for both mentees and mentors. In addition, the Programme also provides a series of underpinning knowledge and understanding workshops that include: Good Relations in the Workplace; Personal Effectiveness; Decision-Making & Problem Solving; Competency Based Interviews; Presentation Skills and Introduction to Child Rights (UNICEF).
Youth Business Charter
The Youth Business Charter is a project that gets young people involved in showcasing local employers who go the extra mile for young people.
Council’s research shows young people identify challenges including a lack of jobs, careers advice and apprenticeships, and little opportunity for small business innovation.
The purpose of the Charter is to:
- highlight the good work being done by employers in supporting young people into work
- raise awareness in young people of employers and industries who support young people into work
Unicef Child Friendly Communities
Unicef Uk are working with partners in Derry/ Londonderry and Strabane to put Children’s Rights into practice. The aim is to create communities where all children, whether you are living in care, using a children’s centre or visiting your local leisure centre have a meaningful say in, and truly benefit from local decisions, services and spaces that shape their lives.
Unicef Youth Advisory Panel
Would you like the chance to advise us on how our local services and communities can be improved? We’ve launched our Youth Panel in July 2019, but you can still take part.
